Accommodation
The accommodation on all Wandering Aengus tours is personally selected by its two directors. Based on our own extensive knowledge and experience of hospitality within the regions where we will be staying, we are confident to offer what we consider the best of a selection of established hotels, cosy climbing inns, and country guest houses; hostelry renowned for its unforgettable peculiarity, its delicious and appetising fare and its warm welcome to walkers and hikers. We endeavour to provide you with not only a high standard of accommodation and service, but also a most welcome and pleasant stay in places of great charm and distinctive character. Our choice of hotels and inns are in locations that are in the heart of the regions we are visiting and after a day's hiking in the hills, glens and dales of Britain, these places will provide just the right ambience to enjoy a relaxing evening.
All accommodation on our tours is with private bathroom wherever this is possible and is based on twin sharing. If you are travevelling alone we will pair you with another independant traveller of the same sex. If you wish to request a single room this is usually possible depending on availability at the time. There is normally a supplementary charge if we place you in a single room at your request.
COMESTIBLES
Epicure - noun: >(i). One delighting in eating and drinking. >(ii). One who enjoys eating food that is of very good quality.
As with our choice of accommodation, we have planned our menus with equal care and consideration. To set you up for the day there is a traditional cooked breakfast or, if you prefer a lighter start, a breakfast of continental style. On hiking days we provide for you a sumptuous picnic lunch and a selection of beverages: fruit juice, soft drink, hot coffee or tea. The provision of evening meals varies according to the nature of the trip. Where the best or only option is a fixed course provided at your accommodation, or where it is necessary for us to reserve seats well in advance in order to guarantee dining in the best restaurant in town, then dinner is included in the trip price. Where there is a wide range of meal options it makes sense to leave the choice to you, and on these occasions the cost of the meal is not included in the trip. Our indivdual trip dossiers detail exactly which meals are included and which are not, together with our estimated budget for any non-included meals so that you know the total costs of your trip before you leave home.
Transport
On all our tours you travel by private minibus driven by a PCV qualified driver.
Entrance Fees
All excursions fares, entrance fees and permits for visits to National parks, museums, historic buidings and sites etc. involved in the itinerary, are included in the trip price.
Taxes
All taxes including European VAT at 17½% are included.
Tour Guides
The price includes the services of an experienced professional walking tour leader, and a tour organiser. We take great pride in offering a more personalised service to our clients. We keep our groups small, with a maximum of eight people on most of our tours, so that throughout the trip you can be assured of our undivided attention. Wandering Aengus Treks is a 'Recognised Outdoor Activity Member' of the Cumbria Tourist Board.
